After moving to Gasport just a few months ago, I decided to check out the local library located just a few minutes away in Middleport. They were having a book sale - a bag of books for $2.00. I was able to get some great books: 2 bags of gardening and landscaping books, every Stephen King book they had for sale, and tons of kids books and puzzles. I plan to go back before the sale ends in a few days. Besides the sale, I love how the library is set up. The kids section is so cute. It's got plenty of windows letting light in and whether a child is just starting to read or has been reading for years, this library has got the perfect spot for them. There's so many books, magazines, dvds and more for adults and plenty of seating. They've got a great website that shows when events are taking place like book clubs, lego building nights and family history classes. They've got computer stations, meeting rooms and a children's stage. When I made my first visit to the library, I was greeted by Sonora Miller, the library's new director who was so kind and welcoming. She gave me so much helpful information. I can't recommend this library enough. As a mom with two daughters who are just entering the world of reading, I'm excited to show them just how much fun it can be and the Middleport Free Library is the perfect place to do just that.
Such a lovely little library. The staff are always so friendly and inviting. Extremely knowledgeable and always more than happy to assist. If there is ever a book that I want and they dont have, they're quick to find it and have it sent to the library. My kids LOVE going to Storytime with Miss Sonora, she's so sweet and patient and amazing with the children! She sings, does simple sign language, brings out different instruments and of course reads books! If you live in or are new to the area do NOT hesitate to utilize this little gem of a library.
